The north of Amsterdam reads as a patchwork in time. A continuous development of new and old merging and growing define a super attractive ensemble that changes and surprises. The developments at the Overhoeks area with it's big city atmosphere and just next to it the 1920 dwelling area Van der Pekbuurt. These two worlds couldn't be more different. The Van der Pekbrug will be connecting those two sites of the North. The bridge will be like a city square, strongly focussed on pedestrians and cyclists. It has extra size for walking at the north side and a seperate part for walking and cycling at the south side. Benches and big brickwork edges relate to the excisting streets and boardwalks.
